MUKUL ROHATGI

Just like Amitabh Bachchan is famous in Bollywood Film Industry, Similarly Mr. Mukul Rohatgi is famous in Supreme Court. He is the son of Late Mr. Justice Awadh Bihari Rohatgi of Delhi High Court. Mr. Mukul was born in Mumbai but grew up in Delhi. He did his law from Govt. Law College and joined the chamber of Senior Advocate Y.K. Sabarwal who later became a judge of Delhi High Court and was elevated to Supreme Court and retired as chief Justice of India.

In 1993, Mr. Mukul Rohtgi was designated as a Senior Advocate by Delhi High Court and in 1999 he was appointed as Additional Solicitor General of India and this was the time when he shifted his base from High Court to Supreme Court. He is having a good knowledge of law and experience of all types of civil, constitutional and criminal cases.

In 2014 when Mr. Narendra Modi became Prime Minister of India then Mr. Arun Jaitley became Union Law Minister of India and he appointed Mr. Mukul Rohatgi as Attorney General of India. He remained at the top post for few years and resigned the post saying that his Private Practice is suffering. He is married to a lady Lawyer Mrs. Vasudha Rohatgi who is a daughter of a Senior Advocate Late Shri G.L. Sanghi.

Even the brother in law of Mukul Rohatgi, Mr. Vipin Sanghi was the Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court and presently he is also practicing as a Senior Advocate in Supreme Court.

Mr. Mukul Rohatgi’s fees is comparatively on a higher side because most of his clients are companies and businessmen. He has a office in Sundar Nagar near Delhi Zoo and another office in Golf-Links. Till now, he has appeared in many important cases and is a very good arguing counsel. Every time he is surrounded by Juniors and other Lawyers inside court room.
